  1. Another great stay. We have come back every year since we found the Faraway 15 years ago. A wonderful old Florida mom and pop place to stay in quiet Cedar Key

  2. We checked out this morning. There wasn’t anyone in the office so we dropped the keys in the little pet door at the office
This was our second time at Faraway Inn and we will be back
    We love your place
I posted a review on TripAdvisor. We wondered if you have any cottages that have 2 double beds or a king bed? Thank you for making us feel so welcome and for welcoming our 4 legged family member. Thanks again.

  3. Love the laid back vibe and pet friendly policy. Been looking to visit your old Florida are…and jut ting to find the best fit for me and my sidekick Himalayan – Dali Lama.

  4. Love this place! Me and my wife have been visiting cedar key for years and have stayed everywhere possible, but by far has faraway Inn been our favorite. We haven’t stayed anywhere else since our first stay here. The people here are so kind and generous. And so pet friendly! There will always be people that nothing in life is good enough for them, so no matter what they will leave a bad review. ( As I noticed here) But I urge you to take the time for yourself to make that decision after visiting .

    • Thank you so much for your kind review. Our wonderful staff is always eager to make all our guests feel comfortable and safe. If you have a chance please write a review on Tripadvisor.

  5. My husband and I stayed at Faraway Inn for three nights beginning on 8/25/15. It was our first time there, and I just found it by doing a google search. I can not say one negative thing about Faraway Inn. They are so pet friendly, and we like to take our dog with us when we travel. It is great. We stayed in Cottage 10 and we loved it. The swings in front were great, and there was a nice breeze. The staff is great, very helpful and make you feel very welcome. Next time we hope to go when it is a little cooler, and rent a golf cart . I will definitely return.

    • Awesome. We are so glad that you havd a good time at Faraway Inn and Cedar Key. We absolutely love when guests bring their pets on vacation with them. If you have an opportunity please go on Tripadvisor and write a review. We look forward to your return.

  6. I made reservations several months ago for Gulf View Room #12 for next week August 25, 26, 27. Unfortunately, several things have happened: my husband was laid off for 3 months but thankfully, started a new job this past week but his employers will not permit any time off for the next few months; I am a nurse and injured my knee moving a patient and had surgery to repair it so I am not able to get around very well and still experiencing pain/swelling. We have not had any kind of vacation for several years and are very sad but we have to cancel our reservations for now. I pray we will be able to take time off and come stay at Faraway Inn before too long. I can’t tell you how much we were looking forward to this trip. I hope the lateness in canceling does not incur a fee? Thank you.

    • I know you have already spoken to my husband Oliver regarding your unfortunate canellation. We are so sorry that you can not make it at this time and know we will see you at another time.

    • I know I responded to a previous post from you. Again, my apologies for not responding to this request. I am checking my wordpress blog daily. I looked at our online system and did not see a reservation under your name. I sure do understand that my not responding twice may have turned you off, I would have been annoyed. I am actually annoyed at myself. Please know that it was not intentional, just technology getting ahead of me. I hope you are reserved to stay in Cedar Key during the time you seek. If you have any questions please call us at 888-543-5330 or email us at info@farawayinn.com

  8. I stayed here in early June of 2014, in I believe, cabin 2. Sorry it took so long to comment! The farawayinn is a great place for vacation. The staff is very friendly, the cottage I stayed in was clean and comfortable with everything I needed available. The owners are very nice people and go out of there way to make sure you are kept happy! Just hanging out in the pavilion was enough to keep us happy, though going out and doing other things was cool as well. Which is very easy as it is an amazingly beautiful place! I look forward to staying there in the future! I would recommend anyone to stay there!

  9. Hello. My fiance and I are booked at your charming inn April 16-19. This trip will ne our honeymoon. I was also wondering if we could also exchange our vows there as well. It’s only him and I, no other guests. Very simple and quick. Is there a local officiant that you could recommend? Thanks so much

    • I just saw your message. Please refer all questions to info@farawayinn.com. Please email us at info@farawayinn.com if we can assist in any way. Please do let us know if you are getting married at Faraway Inn so we can be sure to take pictures for you both.

    • I am sorry that we are not what you are seeking in an accommodation. We do not discriminate against race, creed, color or sexual orientation. I know that you will find a suitable place on the island which will meet your needs.

      • Mr. Johnny Balls is ignorant in that the your establishment is one of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. Everything thing was outstanding! The rooms, the property, and amenities, to the friendly staff! Every need of our group was met with professionalism. I do NOT see why anyone would say that you cater to any one entity. If anything, you cater to EVERYONES needs and desires within reason. The place is great, the owners and staff are great!

      • What a WONDERFUL response to an ugly message!!! Now we can’t wait to come stay with you!!!

      • Thank you! Nice, respectful and friendly people come in all colors, sizes, races. It is not our job to judge who people fall in love with. It is our job to make sure our guests have a nice get-a-way while at Faraway Inn and feel refreshed when they go onto the next destination. People are people and life is hard enough to worry about who a person is attracted to. We ask that only nice people stay at Faraway Inn, mean people need go elsewhere.

      • Thank you for the very polite way you referred to the needless comment made by JB on our blog. You are welcome at Faraway Inn. Mr. JB need go elsewhere. I guess maybe we do discriminate?, against ignorance and rudeness!

      • Sorry for not responding sooner but I forget to check posts on our site blog.
Yes it is a mean rude post but my reason for not deleting the post is to let others know that we do not feel the same way. We believe in freedom of speech, even if what is being said is ignorant. I hope you understand why I keep the post active.

  10. Hi. Liking for place to bring our family. My husband and I and our adult daughter and our son and fiancée a their 2 and 4 year olds which sleep with them. We need to just really relax as my husband has been very ill for over a year with a granuloma on his spine. Also hope this is budget friendly. Am impressed by your reviews. Can come first or second week in June and if must the first full week in April. Thank you so much. We just retired as Foster parents for 20+ years. We visited Cedar Key once with our big family and camped, loved it there and vowed to come back

    • Cyrilla – my husband and I have stayed here in the past. You can not find a better place for rest and relaxation. The family here meets and exceeds your needs before you even realize you need anything. We are trying to find time in our calendar to come back. really really soon Thank you for being Foster Parents! • Thank you so much for thinking of Faraway Inn. We do require a two night minimum on the weekends. We would have Units 5 or 9 available for $100 per night plus tax but it would require a two night stay. Sometimes we have a one night only if a guest does a Saturday and Sunday then we would have a Friday night open. With only 12 units we have to make the most of our rentals, I hope you understand. We will do one nighters during the week Sunday – Thursday.

kind of information written in such an ideal manner?
I have a venture that I am just now working on,
and I’ve been at the glance out for such information.

  21. Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems as though you
