Tripadvisor Faraway Inn Review May 2014

“laid back perfection”

5 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 days ago NEW

We came to Cedar Key for a quick 2 night getaway and a charter fishing day trip. We booked the Capitains Quarters here at the advice of Shelley over the phone. She was awesome to deal with over the phone, and even better in person! We were going to be arriving late on Friday, she said….no worries! The keys will be in your room, we’ll square up in the morning! So Saturday morning came quick, we had to be at the Marina super early to head out on the chartered boat, I worried all day, knowing we never officially checked in ! I finally got to the check in office around 5:00pm! I was certain somebody was going to be upset, but not at all! Shelley greeted me like an old friend! It’s a great little ” Old Florida” place to unwind. Very clean, quiet, unpretentious. Very pretty native Floridian gardens, the Jasmine in full bloom growing all over the trellis was remarkable. It was so quiet here I never would have known they were fully booked. Great view of the water, neat patio with lots of porch swings facing the water. Guest are free to roam the property with Corona in hand and no shoes ( my kind of place ) I swear Jimmy Buffet songs ran through my head all weekend as opposed to schedules, deadlines, problems, worries, or demands. If your laid back, or want to practice being laid back, this is the perfect place. If you’re looking for fancy dancy hoopla, this is not for you. It’s very family and pet friendly as well. We will certainly be back!!

Room Tip: Captains Quarters worked well for myself and my 6 foot , broad shouldered husband.
